Week in Review

This week:

The very gracious Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe, Louisiana graciously donated furniture for the Hope Resource Center of Monticello. And, the Resource Center has a planned start date and facility! So, one of my church members and I went to pick up the furniture. In thunderstorms. The Lord was gracious, and we got held up by a drawbridge for about 20 minutes, allowing us to miss the worst of the storms on the road.

Ann and I got new phones from AT&T after they decided to honor their customer service commitments! So, I now have a Blackberry, which is great, because I can get email anywhere. I seem to remember buying a laptop several years ago because it would be cool to get email anywhere. That laptop was 10 pounds heavier than my Blackberry. It did have a full keyboard, instead of 2 letters per key. But that's about it for advantages...I'm loving my blackberry, and am wondering if I can get President Obama's blackberry messenger PIN so he can chat with me whenever he want to. Just to let him know he's got someone willing to listen but not be a 'yes-man' sycophant.

I had the opportunity to attend the dedication of the new BCM building at UAM. It was a great time. After it was over, I met Ruthanne's mom and dad, which is kind of funny, because Ruthanne and I were in high school together, but I don't think I ever met her mom and dad then. Turns out they met at the UAM BSU back in the day. Funny how the world works!

Went to the dentist. Blogged about it. My dentist is the guy in town with the new car, with 'thanks Doug' on the tag.

It rained like crazy Thurday. Had a minor flow through one corner of the house. And a huge flow in the yard!

That's been my week. Seems like a lot of running and going, and it was.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow. In the morning, we'll celebrate the Lord's Supper and tomorrow night our choir will present their Easter cantata!
