From John Newton

I pulled this quote off the web:
"We serve a gracious Master who knows how to overrule even our mistakes to His glory and our own advantage."
- The Rev. John Newton, author of the Hymn 'Amazing Grace'

I want us to remember that our lives are not in our own hands. What a terror that would be! If we were depending solely our abilities to accomplish God's purpose in our lives, we would come far short. Instead, God is at work in us to accomplish His plan.

Which does not excuse us, but instead should drive us to further obedience. In all, as we obey, we receive the benefit of being used for His glory. Even should we falter or be inadequate, His ability will succeed our own. And should we fail, He can still work in these things.

Or, we can neglect our joyful responsibility and instead be used in demonstrating His glory in justice.

Fret not about yesterday, for He was unsurprised by your failures then, and worry not for tomorrow, for the future is already known to Him. Obey for today, and see His glory.

And on the side, it will be to your benefit.
