Prop it up!

Yesterday, I took a nice divot out of my right knee. I managed to bang my knee under the corner of the counter in the bathroom, and knocked my kneecap a little out of place, and took a chunk of skin off. It looked bad, swollen, and bled much of the day.

Today, it still hurts, but it doesn't look nearly as bad. The truth is, if you just looked at it, you'd think I was being a whiny-face for staying propped up. However, under the surface, there's a lot of pain.

A lot of people around us are like my knee. No, they don't bend in funny ways. But they are bruised and bleeding. Some of them try to cover it up with the latest, greatest things of society. This is like the Cars band-aid I put on my knee yesterday. It was a great picture, and looked much better, but it just covered the pain. Some people don't look like they have pain, but it's just beneath the surface.

As we move forward in our walk with God, let's take the time to compassionately help those who are in pain. To carry a little of their burden, to help them prop up, and recover. After all, God made us for relationships with Him and each other. It'd be a shame to leave someone behind.
Moving toward the Horizon,
Doug
