September 8 by Doug

Proverbs 8:1(NIV) →Hear the frustration? It's there. It's like the parent that says “How many times do I have to tell you?” Wisdom is available. Understanding is available. Why do people not bother?

Proverbs 8:8(NIV) →There is nothing in wisdom that is wrong. True wisdom is righteous. Those offended by it are those in error.

Proverbs 8:10(NIV) →How many times do we trade a quick profit for knowledge and wisdom? Do we choose the lesser monetary gain? Too many.

Proverbs 8:13(NIV) →There is no separation between serving God and hating evil, no matter what men attempt to put there. Doing the first leads to the latter. However, don't confuse the two or think that just because you do the latter, you're doing the former. Heart to God, then all things should flow forth.

Proverbs 8:15(NIV) →And without wisdom, kings and rulers do dumb things.

Proverbs 8:18(NIV) →Compare to Proverbs 8:10. If you'll give up silver or gold for wisdom, you'll find enduring wealth. Which sounds better to you? I know that having what you can see seems better, but is it really?

Proverbs 8:20-31(NIV) →Yes, long block. Why does the universe have a logical order to it? This is the answer.

Proverbs 8:35-36(NIV) →note the contrasts. Finding wisdom leads to life, and favor from the Lord. Not finding results in harming oneself and death. It's the consequences of our own actions. Those who do not seek the Lord, for the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, end up with the consequences of their own actions.
