One word of warning for any church considering being a “sending church” for starting a new work: spiritual warfare is a real thing. Most of the trainers for church planters do a really good job helping equip and prepare planters for the work. Including and especially about the pitfalls and snares that the enemy throws at workers of the Gospel.
However, one thing to remember as your church considers engaging as a sending church: you’re also stepping into some dangerous territory as well. After all, you’ll be the supply base for efforts to reclaim what the Devil wants to keep stolen.
Now, remember, though:
Jesus is the winner. He has already conquered, and He is more than enough not only to supply church planters but also senders of church planters. If you’re engaged in Kingdom work, the enemies of the Kingdom will target you.
So be certain that you are praying and working not only to send out but also to shore up your church as you get started on this journey. It’s worth doing.
